GR20 (Grande Randonnée 20)

Worth knowing
The GR20 runs for a length of 181 kilometers through France.
The difficulty of the trail is rated as very hard and it usually takes 9 days to walk the GR20.
Of course, how long it really takes for the trail depends on the experience and fitness of the hikers.
The drinking water supply is on the way a problem depending on the season.
Reliable water points are not always available, as these may have dried out.
You should definitely plan ahead and get informed here!
On the trail food supply is less of an issue. As a rule, you can either buy groceries every day or eat in a hut or restaurant.
Nevertheless, it is important to carry an appropriate supply with you.
You can stay overnight in managed huts.
Wild camping is not allowed As always, leave behind no traces . Rubbish has to be taken away and nature has to be respected and protected!
Campfires are currently prohibited. However, this can change at any time.
Therefore, please be sure to pay attention to public notices and a possible risk of forest fires..
In addition, new fireplaces should never be built, but existing ones should be used.

You can get to the airport per Bus / Taxi. Takes about 2 hours.
